Frequently Asked Questions
This is your opportunity to meet me and ask any questions you may have about the counseling process (e.g., confidentiality, appointment scheduling, cancellations, etc.)
We will then talk in more detail about what brings you in. I will ask you questions in order to get a better understanding of you and your concerns. We will also talk about what your goals are for counseling.
At the end of the appointment we will discuss a plan and schedule your next appointment before you go.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes. Couple/group sessions vary from 75-90 minutes.
I recommend weekly sessions for the first month.
After this we will discuss how often to meet depending on your needs and goals.
The best outcomes for therapy are possible when counseling appointments are scheduled and attended regularly.
As a client, you are guaranteed the protection of confidentiality within the boundaries of
the client/counselor relationship.
The only limitations to confidentiality occur when
clients are considered either a threat to themselves or someone else, or when legal
requirements demand that confidential information be disclosed.
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding my confidentiality policy.
There is no charge for any session cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time.
Full fee will be charged for missed sessions.
I offer a free phone consultation to all new clients.
Thereafter, sessions for individuals cost $140.00. Sessions for couples start at $220.00 for 65 minutes. For your convenience, I accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and paypal.
Many insurance plans reimburse for a portion of therapy. For details, contact your insurance carrier and ask about “out-of-network” benefits for “outpatient mental health services.”
I am happy to provide you with a statement for therapy that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
This statement is often referred to as a “super bill.”
